IEP Support
Our Focus
The Arc of Greater New Orleans serves as the family support organization for Orleans Parish, providing free, confidential support to families of students with disabilities.
As authorized by the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE), we help families understand their rights, participate fully in the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, and navigate disputes with their school system.
How We Help
Whether you’re preparing for an IEP meeting, unsure about your child’s services, or facing a disagreement with the school, we’re here to guide you. Our trained advocates offer:
- One-on-one IEP support and meeting preparation
- Coaching to navigate school services and accommodations
- Information about parental rights under IDEA and Louisiana law
- Guidance on dispute resolution options, including mediation, complaints, and due process
- Referrals to other support agencies and legal resources, as needed
The Arc of Greater New Orleans is honored to partner with LDOE to support families and promote inclusive education for all.
