Our Community Integration (CI) program starts with our five area community centers that serve as day facilities for adults. Supervised by a compassionate staff of trained caregivers, our community centers are located in a four-parish area:
ArcGNO is known to compassionately care for people with intellectual disabilities or developmental delays (IDD) from birth-to-death, but an IDD diagnosis does not define those we care for. We strive to create communities that are inclusive and accepting, and we encourage: Independence, self-esteem, and self-reliance that leads to a fulfilling and engaging life.
How we help
Participants go to other non-profits and volunteer.
Health and fitness programs
Leaders take groups biking, swimming, yoga, bowling and more.
We integrate with the community through gatherings at coffee shops, restaurants, and movie theaters.
Community Center-based programs
ArcGNO participants remain at our centers and engage in a full schedule of activities throughout the day.
For those who are unable to attend in person, ArcGNO now offers a Virtual Community Center (VCC), which allows our participants to stay engaged with ArcGNO peers while at home. Several days a week, community center-based programs are streamed live, so those who cannot participate in person can still engage in activities and connect with others via the internet.
Transportation to and from our centers may be available in your area. ArcGNO provides transportation to all our off-site programs.
Community Integration empowers all to celebrate our differences.
