ArcGNO welcome community members, professionals and skilled labor. We are a large non-profit organization needing help
with everything from refrigeration to photography, fitness coaches to graphic design and even a logistics expert can help us sort through an occasional ‘situation.’
There is always a need for electricians, mechanics, or carpenters. Architects, artists, musicians, and even theater professionals will find some rewarding and useful way to support ArcGNO if you feel inspired.
Make a difference in your community by volunteering at ArcGNO. We have many opportunities to suit your interests. All volunteers must be at least 16 years or older.
While New Orleans and surrounding areas celebrate the carnival season each year for two weeks, Arc of Greater New Orleans is in Mardi Gras mode year round. Arc receives donations of beads and throws from area residents that are then sorted, packaged and sold to float riders in 30-pound crawfish sacks. The Mardi Gras Recycling Center makes for a fun and festive volunteer outing, especially for large groups. Mardi Gras music is always part of the setting as volunteers sort Mardi Gras beads. Volunteers will work with Arc crew members who are always more than happy to share their Mardi Gras experiences as well as a few dance moves they’ve learned along the way. This indoor activity can get a little dirty, but Arc provides gloves for each volunteer so clean-up is quick and easy.
