ArcGNO welcomes community members, professionals, and skilled labor to help us advocate for and empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We have many volunteer opportunities available.
Mardi Gras Recycle Center
ArcGNO collected more than 160 tons of Mardi Gras throws in 2019, saving them from drains and landfills around New Orleans. Now, we need your help to sort and package them! The more recycled throws we sell, the more jobs we create for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Work alongside people of all abilities by volunteering with our bead team in a fun and festive environment. This is perfect for your office, club, team, or social group! If you’re volunteering alone, we can use your help as well!

ArcGNO serves about 250 adults with intellectual disabilities in 5 day centers across the Greater New Orleans region. Our programming and activities focus on community integration, health and wellness, and advocacy. We are always looking for opportunities to introduce our participants to new experiences, to reinforce positive life skills, and to encourage healthy living.
Are you a musician, actor, or artist looking to share your talents? Do you work in health and wellness or want to help participants stay more active? Is your organization hosting an event in search of fun and curious participants? ArcGNO wants to collaborate! If you have an inclusive idea that celebrates all abilities, please complete the Volunteer Registration Form below.
Facilities and Administrative Supports
ArcGNO supports over 600 individuals in the Greater New Orleans region, which leaves little time or funding to address infrastructure and facilities. We would appreciate the help of anyone who can offer time and talent to help maintain and improve spaces for ArcGNO staff and participants.
Or, come work with our dedicated staff! We can always use an extra pair of hands to help with reception, clerical services, and retail support in our Bead Store.
If you have an interest or talent that can help us achieve our mission in anyway, please complete the Volunteer Registration Form below.
Make a difference and enjoy the rewards of volunteering with individuals who have unique abilities.
